Topic: Applying Large Language Models (LLMs) to Secure Software Development
Overview
AI assistants like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and DeepSeek Coder are revolutionizing development through natural language-driven code generation. While these tools promise massive productivity gains, they also introduce risks regarding security, reliability, and legal liability.
Session Highlights
Dr. Dasarathy will demonstrate the reality of using LLMs as software assistants, sharing his experience with:
-
Prompt Engineering: Driving implementations and navigating debugging pain points.
-
Security & Testing: Using Claude for security testing, documentation, and comparing implementations.
-
Live Demo: A showcase of two functional implementations developed via AI.
The Takeaway
LLM technology is a game-changer for software-intensive systems. Learn how to leverage these assistants effectively while managing the risks of insecure or unreliable code.
