General Chapter Questions
1. What is the ISC2 Annapolis Junction Chapter?
A local community of cybersecurity professionals committed to advancing knowledge, sharing resources, and supporting ISC2 certification holders through events, training and networking.
2. Who can join the chapter?
Membership is open to all cybersecurity professionals - whether you hold an ISC2 certification or not. Students and newcomers to the field are welcome!
3. Is there a membership fee?
Yes, student membership is $25, military is $45 and professionals are $55 per year.
CPE Credits & Certifications
4. Can I earn CPE credits by attending chapter meetings or events?
Yes! Our chapter members are eligible for Group A and B CPE credits. Check out our Programs and Events webpage and be sure to register for our events.
5. How do I submit CPEs for chapter activities?
The chapter will submit CPEs for group activities on your behalf, all other activities will need to be submitted by you through the ISC2 member portal. Be sure to retain proof of participation of self-reported activities in case of an audit.
6. How many CPEs can I earn through chapter involvement?
You can earn credits through attending events, volunteering, presenting, mentoring, and contributing content. CPE values vary by activity.

7. When and where does the chapter meet?
We host meetings monthly (virtual and in-person). Check our Program and Events page for dates, topics, and registration details. Be sure to RSVP.
8. Are programs and events open to non-members?
Yes! Guests are welcome to attend most chapter events. Some events may require chapter membership for registration priority.
9. What kind of topics are covered in chapter meetings?
We feature speakers and workshops on various cybersecurity topics.

10. How can I volunteer or join a committee?
Join our chapter. We offer roles in Membership, Programs & Events, Communications & Marketing, Education & Training, Partnerships, Volunteer & Outreach, Technology and Historian.
11. Do volunteers earn CPEs?
Yes! Volunteering for an ISC2 chapter qualifies for Group A or B CPEs depending on the role and activity.

13. Where can I find study resources for ISC2 certifications?
Members can visit our Study Resources section, where we provide breakdowns, exam tips, and CPE recommendations for all of the certifications. This section will remain updated on a frequent basis.
